| 2012 LED TAG Working Groups have gotten underway - Wednesday, April 25, 2012
2012 LED TAG Working Groups have gotten underway. Access webinar recordings of two of them using these links:
You can also access the webinar recording of the first meeting of the LED TAG, the Ranking session held April 5, 2012, here.
Previous TAG cycles spent more time discussing and collecting information on technologies before Ranking, and engaged fewer members in the development of Scoring presentations, which were shown together in a single over-long all-TAG meeting after which members were asked to complete a Scoring Survey for all of them.
The new model has members and staff rolling up their sleeves in Working Groups focused on the short list, spending the bulk of TAG time directly on developing presentations and draft recommendations. In addition to the advantage of focus, this approach also benefits from more opportunities for staff to help members understand the needs of Bonneville programs, resulting in recommendations more likely to be implemented soon, essential in a fast-moving emerging technologies. Each technology will be presented and Scored individually in a series of shorter all-TAG meetings. The first Scoring and Recommendations meeting is tentatively scheduled for next week on May 3 rd. Visit the LED TAG Portal for announcements, a calendar of events, and to look at the TAG Scorecard and other resources.
If you would like to be added to a Working Group listserv, please contact Angela Phillips, PhillipsA@energy.wsu.edu. All working group members should have received notification of their membership in the respective listserv during the week of April 16 th. Being on a listserv does not imply membership in the Working Group. |

Energy Efficiency Emerging Technology Program
2012 LED Lighting Technical Advisory Group
April 11, 2012
Congratulations on a great start to the 2012 E3T LED Lighting TAG
The first meeting of the LED TAG succeeded in all key areas. The context and goals of the process were articulated, prominent LED applications were examined, and the meeting concluded with a solid foundation to focus efforts on four key technologies. We are very grateful for your role in this auspicious start to the accelerated 2012 LED Lighting TAG cycle.
Next Steps-Working Groups
Working groups were formed to delve more deeply into the four technologies selected by the end of the meeting. These groups provide the basis for much of the remaining work of the TAG. Working groups will meet two or more times in April, and some into May, to examine the characteristics of these LED applications and to prepare presentations and draft recommendations to share with the full TAG in brief meetings in May.
Presentations and draft recommendations should be directed at helping TAG members assess the strengths of each based on questions in the TAG and BPA Scorecards, surveys designed to draw out benefits and establish priority for further efforts to move into utility programs.
Members of the Working groups are listed here. Five or six members will likely be the maximum size for these groups to work effectively; there remains an opportunity to join groups.
